We met on a very respectable dating app just as Sydney was coming out of its first lockdown. Our first date was at The Vicar in Dural and even after the restaurant had closed, we sat in the carpark and talked for hours. Belle was flipped off for tailgating a man in a ute on her way home (this wasn't her fault?).

Our first trip together was up to Byron Bay where we enjoyed some excellent bonding moments, such as getting matching leeches on our Minyon Falls hike, both getting sunburnt, traipsing around Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens, and the infamous "Belle puts a tea towel on her head to sleep while David was driving" moment.

Sydney was plunged into another lockdown, and Belle “temporarily” moved in. Some of our lockdown adventures included trying to grow herbs, David teaching Belle to play soccer in the park, running (bleh), painting and baking. Belle never moved out.

We moved to Leichhardt! This marked the beginning of our new home together, burgeoning into our obsession with spending too much money at restaurants and overeating ALWAYS.

Our first flight together took us on a cheeky trip to Perth, where we enjoyed sunsets, wine, quadbiking, quokkas, and most importantly, going to Gnomesville. David's favourite part of the trip, however, was eating cinnomon scrolls, which he still to this day describes as "unreal".

The day we welcomed Bear into our family, which kickstarted the next 2 months of Bear crying, chewing, chomping, and peeing. But he is the greatest dog to ever live, and we will fight anyone who says otherwise.

Our first overseas trip together was to Spain. It's hard to describe what a magical time we had - we saw beautiful architecture, ate mindblowing food, and poorly pronounced a lot of Spanish words. Retiring to Sans Sebastian when we are old and wrinkly is still our plan.

For our next trip, we headed to Fiji, which saw us sporting matching sunburns, and competing for who can read the most amount of books whilst laying by the pool and drinking spicy margs (Belle won, obviously).

The day Taylor Swift's new album came out! Jks! It's also the day we got engaged! Followed by a surprise photo session of two sunburnt lovebirds awkwardly trying to follow directions.

We bought a unit! And in a serendipitous moment, the day we got the keys to our little slice of Leichhardt was three years to the day that we first starting calling this suburb home!
